USDT0 is an omnichain version of Tether’s USD₮ stablecoin, launched on 16 January 2025 in partnership with LayerZero Labs. It uses the LayerZero Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard and a lock-and-mint design: USD₮ is locked on Ethereum and the same amount of USDT0 is minted on the destination chain, so parity is always 1 USDT0 = 1 USD₮.
Metal X is a DEX developed by Metallicus, allowing users to trade digital assets without a central authority, enhancing control and security over funds and private keys. It uses Metallicus-wrapped xTokens for cross-chain trading across different blockchain networks. Metal X lacks a formal governance process and does not currently have a token. In 2023, Metallicus completed its Series B funding for an undisclosed amount.
Comet Protocol is a cross-chain communication aggregator designed to seamlessly connect Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other Layer 1 blockchains. Inspired by the enduring nature of comets, the protocol aims to enable secure, continuous, and uninterrupted asset transfers across multiple blockchain networks. Its mission is to foster an interconnected and scalable blockchain ecosystem, breaking down barriers between isolated networks to accelerate decentralized finance adoption. The project is currently self-funded and does not have a formal governance process in place. Comet Protocol has not yet issued a token, with the tokenomics still in development.
