Superchain Sunday: Week 33, 2025

Superchain Data

The Superchain accounts for over 69.6% of all Layer 2 transactions and sees 15.0M daily transactions. The network boasts 822 Unique Apps, contributing to the Optimism Collective. It is estimated that 90.4 ETH will be contributed to the Optimism Collective in August. Data Fetched from the Superchain Health Dashboard.

What's Hot in Superchain?

Optimism SuperStacks Analysis

SuperStacks pulled in $58M of net TVL inflows during its 76-day run, with $53.7M still sitting in pools a month after incentives ended. That works out to $23.2 per OP during the program and $21.5 per OP retained after costs. The data suggests lending pools kept liquidity more effectively than DEXs, though overlapping campaigns like Uniswap’s Gauntlet incentives made attribution tricky.

Overall, the program showed that targeted incentives can spark real demand-side growth, but untangling effects in a crowded market remains difficult. Still, the retention levels point to meaningful traction for interoperable assets across the Superchain. Read the full analysis here.

Flashblocks Live on Unichain

Unichain just rolled out Flashblocks, confirming transactions every 200 milliseconds, making it one of the fastest chains around. Built by Uniswap Labs and Flashbots, these sub-blocks run inside Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), ensuring both speed and provable ordering. That combination means swaps confirm almost instantly while developers get the integrity they need to build fair, transparent systems.

For traders, this means fresher prices, less slippage, and smoother markets. For LPs, it unlocks tighter rebalancing, sharper liquidity strategies, and potentially higher returns. And for developers, it’s as simple as adding one line of code. Flashblocks bring DeFi closer to how it should feel: instant, efficient, and predictable. Read the full blog here.

Governance Corner

Orderly Improvement Proposal 1

Orderly has put forward its very first governance proposal, OIP-1, which looks to balance staking rewards with long-term value capture through ORDER buybacks. The core idea is simple: redirect up to 60% of net protocol fees toward recurring buybacks of ORDER while still preserving staking utility and VALOR rights.

Here’s how it works: half of the bought-back ORDER goes to stakers (paid in esORDER with a 3-month vesting period), and the other half flows into a community-governed wallet, with the initial plan being to burn those tokens to reduce supply. The goal of OIP-1 is to make staking meaningful, preserve community rights, and introduce a sustainable, transparent buyback system that ties protocol growth directly to token value. It’s the first big step in shaping how value flows back to participants in the Orderly ecosystem. Read the full forum post here.
